How Arrogant!

Does President Bush think he's a sovereign ruler or something? In response to the growing furor and upset over this misbegotten port deal, he says:

that protesting lawmakers should understand his approval of the deal was final.

"They ought to listen to what I have to say about this," the president said. "They'll look at the facts and understand the consequences of what they're going to do. But if they pass a law, I'll deal with it with a veto.

Oh yeah? Who does he think he's representing when nearly the whole country is up in arms? And has he never heard of a veto override?

He's not a king! He doesn't even have a very impressive mandate, elected by only 51% of this country--and may I say yet again I did not vote for that man! I knew this country was going to be in trouble when Bush began having delusions of grandeur right after the election, saying things like he didn't need to explain himself. Why? Well, obviously he's got the approval of the American people cuz they re-elected him. Oh no, not all of us did!

Mr. Bush would like to make a case of bigotry or racism, saying there is a lot of flack about the Arab company and none about the British company. Well, hello, I don't think most of us were aware that our port administration duties were being outsourced for crying out loud!

No offense to the British but had I known they were managing things I would have been upset too.

Why aren't our representatives looking out for our best interests? It's bad enough regular jobs are outsourced all over the world. I don't think we should be outsourcing at all but particularly not such security sensitive positions like this!

And we have 2 more years to put up with this man ... if he doesn't get us all blown up first! :P Read the sorry article about Mr. Bush here.

Wednesday Mind Hump

1. Name five famous Georges

Aiyeee...well, is is Washington's birthday...other than George Washington, there's the very infamous President Bush, his father George I, George Wallace ... those are the infamous ones.

There's George Burns, George Foreman, George Orwell, George Bernard Shaw, Boy George, Michael George, and George Clooney!

2. How many one-dollar bills do you have in your wallet/purse right now?

Four

3. Ever been to Washington, D.C.? How about Washington State? Tell us a little about your trip to either of those places. And if you haven't been to either place, tell me what Washington, D.C. monument, institution or tourist attraction you most want to see if you ever go there.

I've been to Washington DC many times. I used to live in Maryland and frequently went interpreting (sign language) in DC. I can speak to the efficiency and cleanliness of Metro--what a way to travel! If I was to go on vacation to DC to see the monuments and museums, I would definitely park my car at a suburb station and take Metro in. Favorite place to visit? Any of the Smithsonian Museums--they are awesome! I could spend an entire day or more in each one!
