Cats on Tuesday: This Used To Be My Playground

My, this is a busy Tuesday for me--three different posts about cats today! The title of my post comes from a sad song sung by Madonna. I'm not especially a fan of hers but that song came to my mind when I saw some pictures of Amber taken in 2005. Amber used to be the one in front of the computer screen and on the cozy and snuggling (sometimes) with Mouse.

Like Indigo, she is not one who likes change. She is very reserved and tends to hide, especially with rambunctious Kosmo around. I rarely see her in our room anymore. In fact, I can't remember the last time she used her cozy or made herself at home in front of the computer screen. I feel sad. I miss Amber's presence although I would not part with Kosmo for anything. Cats all have their own personalities and their own ways of adjusting to new members of the "family". I look for Amber in the living room now and she still comes running to the table when I'm going to have lunch.

"This Used To Be My Playground" by Madonna

This used to be my playground (used to be)
This used to be my childhood dream
This used to be the place I ran to
Whenever I was in need
Of a friend
Why did it have to end
And why do they always say

Don't look back
Keep your head held high
Don't ask them why
Because life is short
And before you know
You're feeling old
And your heart is breaking
Don't hold on to the past
Well that's too much to ask...

I'm sad too when I am thinking to my Daphnée... Then I report my affection on the other cats and I take long moments with them.

Thanks for visiting my first CoT!

Oh that was sad...but you know they really do have very different personalities and you just have to let them be. I am always delighted when my not so lovey boy comes seeking some love!

Amber looks very beautiful on your desk in front of the monitor. I'm sorry to hear that she hides a lot now. I'm glad that she still "shares" your lunchtime with you.

Yes that's true they all have a different character. I worry about Pookie because she always was my personal cat but now with little Rosie I had to give more attention to the little one and Pookie is still jalous. I try everything to get her back just as before but she refuses to come into my bed because Rosie is in there ! Maybe with the time.

As you know, we are going through big adjustments here. It is sad when you think that a new cat has made an older cat unhappy enough to change behaviors. Usually they adjust, but you miss the old ways sometimes. Great post!
