One fine spring day, my husband TB went for a walk in the woods near our home. Along the way, he encountered this snake right in his path. TB loves to take pictures and had his camera with him and got several good shots of the snake before it got tired of the whole ordeal and slithered away. He's not sure what kind of snake this is. It could have been a Northern Pine rattler but he doesn't think so because the head isn't the right shape.

I wouldn't like to meet him on my walk. Great shot!
well... I wouldn't poke him with a "stick." hmmmm :)
EEK! He's much braver than me!
What a nice shot. Not the sort of thing we see on our walks sadly! Happy WW
Nice shot, but would I would not want to go near that :D
Now this is exactly the reason I do not walk alone in the woods! Forget the snake I would die of anxiety! Great photo and very brave photographer!
I like little bitty snakes and newts and salamanders.
