Tagged!

I was tagged by a friend of mine, Ginger, to do a reading meme. I love those! Here goes:

1. Do you remember how you developed a love for reading?

When I was a baby, my father would read to me. I would sit on his lap and watch his finger move under each word. I loved the stories he read and thought the words were magic. Later, my grandmother would take me with her to the grocery store and she would let me choose A Little Golden Book for her collection. I felt so proud for having such an important job and wanted to read each and every book I picked over and over.

2. What are some books you read as a child?

I read all of the LIttle Golden Books, Dr. Seuss, fairy tales, Aesop's Fables, A Child's Illustrated Classics, and too many more than I could possibly remember.

3. What is your favorite genre?

Probably historical fiction, although I do enjoy reading a little bit of everything except for romance.

4. Do you have a favorite novel?

Yes, Outlander by Diana Gabaldon

5. Where do you usually read?

Anywhere I comfortably can!

6. When do you usually read?

Whenever I am waiting somewhere and usually at night before bed. I also read during commercials if I am watching TV.

7. Do you usually have more than one book that you are reading at a time?

No, usually that's too confusing for me

8. Do you read nonfiction in a different way or place than you read fiction?

Not really, the only difference is that I'm more aware of facts in a non fiction book

9. Do you buy most of the books you read, borrow them, or check them out of the library?

I bought or traded for the books I have and it's really gotten out of control so I had to put a stop to it. I have hundreds of books waiting to be read. Now I need to read large print books so I'm back to borrowing from the library.

10. Do you keep most of the books you buy?

Only my favorites. The others I release through Book Crossing.

11. If you have children, what are some of the favorite books you have shared with them?

All of the Dr. Seuss books, particularly Green Eggs & Ham, Fox In Sox, and The Butter Battle Book

12. What are you reading now?

I just started a book called Black Ice by Michael Connolly.

13. Do you keep a TBR (to be read) list?

I don't keep an actual list. When I'm finished I just reach for the next one thatappeals to me at the time.

14. What's next?

I'm not sure yet...

15. What books would you like to reread?

The Outlander series, the Song of Ice and Fire series, A Tree Grows In Brooklyn, To Kill A Mockingbird, Christy and many others.

16. Who are your favorite authors?

Diana Gabaldon, George R. R. Martin, Stephen King, Harper Lee, Betty Smith, Mark Twain, Charles Dickens, Margaret Mitchell and many others

Now I guess I'm supposed to tag someone but I've never had much luck with that. So I would say if you like this meme, go ahead and try it out for yourselves! Happy reading!
