Coffee Lids and Spoons

I just spent a frustrating few minutes looking for the lid to my coffee mug. At one time, we had about six or 8 of those 20 oz. coffee mugs from WaWa with matching lids. Now we're lucky if we can find a lid for TB and one for me.

The same is true for our spoons. One by one they disappeared, two entire sets of teaspoons and soup spoons. TB and I bought six each from the dollar store most recently and sure enough, we're now down to one teaspoon and three soup spoons.

Don't even get me started on Tupperware.

Where is all that stuff going? Are we furnishing the house of boggarts, gremlins or poltergeists? Are the kids taking all these things up to their rooms and losing them there? Are they being eaten by the dish washer machine monster?

All I know is: we've decided not to buy anymore. TB and I are going to reserve a complete set of flatware for ourselves to reuse over and over. I guess we'll have to do the same for the coffee lids. As for the Tupperware, well, I guess I'll make just enough so there won't be any leftovers.

When I was growing up, my family didn't have this problem. So what is going on here anyway?

I feel the same way about the socks!!! I just asked Mr. Brownstone the other day where on earth they could all be disappearing. It's not a myth in our house for sure!
