Goodbye, Sweet Sox

Sox began to get worse again just a few days after I last posted. On Christmas Eve, he wasn't able to eat until I watered down the baby food so he could slurp it up. Even then, he was having difficulty swallowing. He wanted to eat but couldn't.

We took him to the vet this morning to help him get to the bridge so that he wouldn't suffer. We were heart broken and even the vet became misty eyed at our tears.

We will always remember Sox as a sweet, gentle and loving little guy and hopefully his previous owner Allison and he will be reunited somewhere in heaven.

We're so sorry that Sox had to leave you guys and go without you! It sounds like there wasn't anything else that you could have done. He had a great life with you and it was so lovely that you were with him to the end.

We're sending big purrs to all who loved Sox, human and furry,

We are soooo sorry that Sweet Sox had to pass on to the Bridge. He looked so much like our brother Max at the Bridge, that we are sure they are brothers. We are sending purrs and purrayers to you to help you get over this sad time ... and are especially sorry he had to leave you during the holiday season.

We are so very sorry to learn about Sweet Sox. I know your heart is breaking right now.
The only thing that matters is that he is no longer suffering.
As I learned when my beloved Bear went to the Bridge, that is the last unselfish thing we can do for our fur babies, to allow them to go beyond, free from pain and wait for us. We will bear the pain instead of them.
God Bless,
Love & Purrs,
Mommy ML and KC

I'm very sorry for the loss of your brave fellow, Sox. It's the hardest thing to lose a small part of your heart and I'm grateful there were caring folks at the v-e-t's when you had to help him cross.

We are all so sorry to read that Sox had to go to The Bridge. He was such a lovely, handsome fella. You gave him so much love, he will be looking down from the Bridge and purring to you all, letting you know he had such a very good life and he still loves you very much. You gave him the most difficult but kindest gift of all.

I know that had to have been so hard to do, but you helped take away his pain and now I'm sure he's scarfing down as much food as he wants with no pain whatsoever (and Betsy is right there beside him). You definitely helped him and gave him and all of you time to say goodbye.

We're keeping you in our thoughts. I'm so sorry.

You did a wonderful job with Sox. I was a caretaker for the two cats when Allison was ill. It is sad that Sox left us. He loved Allison so much. Every day when I came, Sox was sitting with her. He loved Allison and Sox went home to her.
Sox was very special. Doe
