Cats On Tuesday: Two Cool Cats Reunited

Yay, TB is home from the hospital under some oddball circumstances but that's okay. We missed him so much!

Why oddball? Well, originally the doctor said he needed to be in the hospital 5 days and so we thought he wouldn't be coming home until later this week. However, poor TB hasn't been able to get much rest because of the pain in his back and legs. The nurse decided to try and get him a bariatric bed...and the next thing we knew, he was being discharged at 2 yesterday afternoon!

His legs are still red and pain him but he's on antibiotics and we're scheduling him to see an lymphedema therapist ASAP.

Suddenly Kosmo showed up. Is that Daddy? he seemed to be saying.

Kosmo and Daddy Bean were very happy to see each other again!

This joyful reunion is one part of our Cats on Tuesday. The other is this very clever youtube video my friend Dawn sent to me. I think everyone will get a kick out of it!

Man Cat Monday: Kosmo Misses Daddy Bean

The doctor told TB that the problem seems to be something called lymphedema. Old fashioned fluid retention is just too mundane for us these days, we must get something we've never heard of or seems improbable to have.

So apparently there is no "cure" for lymphedema, there is only prevention. I was reading over the symptoms and, hypochondriac that I am, I have decided I must have it too!

Lymphedema symptoms include:

* Swelling of part of your arm or your entire arm or leg, including your fingers or toes
* A feeling of heaviness or tightness in your arm or leg
* Restricted range of motion in your arm or leg
* Aching or discomfort in your arm or leg
* Recurring infections in your affected limb
* Hardening and thickening of the skin on your arm or leg

Actually, what I have a lot of the time is the first two.

Treatment includes several different things, including compression garments. I think TB and I would look very fashionable in his and her compression stockings, don't you?

Now, I would like to think that now the doctors think they know what's going on they'll release TB from the hospital...but I sort of suspect they are going to run every test that exists for lymphedema first.

Maybe he'll get to come home tomorrow? All of us really want that so bad, we all miss him--particularly me. It is too weird in the house without him, too quiet, and too disturbing especially with this noisy nor'easter blowing around.

TB and I should be together here, chatting, relaxing and enjoying coffee and naps and other things while the wind blows and the rain pours. In a couple of hours, I'll be able to go visit so I'll be off then and probably not back online until tomorrow...unless I get to bring TB home today and then I'll be broadcasting the news like crazy!
