Cats on Tuesday: Cubby's Nest

One day I was walking by TB's office and saw Kosmo sitting there contentedly. Then I also saw our shy Cubby! TB made a little nest for him. I had to run for my camera!


Cubby sez whose bushy tail dares to disturb my dreams?


And whose arm is so attentively petting Kosmo?


Why, it's TB of course!

12 Weeks Out & Progress Pictures

Today it's exactly 12 weeks since I had surgery, wow! I'm happy with the way things are rolling along. Since my surgery, I've lost 50 lbs; a total of 83 lbs. since my weight loss surgery journey began in 2008. I uploaded some progress pictures.

First, this one was taken in March, 2008. I was at my heaviest then.



Having more reason to celebrate my picture taken, I really put on an act in these pictures! :D





Last month, I took these pictures of TB. He's lost 182 lbs since he started his weight loss journey. Way to go, TB, you're looking terrific! I took pictures of him day before yesterday and they're either posted already or will be posted soon. I'll add a link here when I have it!

Meet Munchkin

Introducing our newest addition: Munchkin! Munchie arrived Friday afternoon. She is so sweet and so affectionate. She snuggled right up in my arms, relaxed, and by the time Monica (the wonderful person who is with the animal rescue group from which we adopted our new kitty)was ready to leave, Munch was just about sound asleep! This is a picture of Munch enjoying Heidi's attentions.

Munchkin's tried making friendly overtures to the rest of the gang but they are too jealous to respond with anything but a hiss. She's been exploring the house but basically sticking to our bedroom for most of the time. She'll come out to snuggle with us in the evening. As time goes on and the rest of the gang become used to her, I'm sure we'll see more and more of her!

What a beautiful weekend we've been having! We couldn't have asked for any better. Enjoy! :D

Feline Friday: Where's Mouse?

Mouse's cuddle buddy du jour is the stuffed bear Heidi got me for Mother's Day.

Ahh...there he is!

We're having a new addition to our feline family arrive sometime soon. She's a sweet little Russian blue named Munchkin. She's about a year old. Her back story is that she was adopted by a family as a kitten. They were evicted and she had to be returned. She was adopted by another family who was also evicted! What bad luck! She had to be returned again. This time she went to a shelter that puts animals down. Monica from an animal rescue organization saw her, took her and she's been in a foster home since.

We saw her picture and felt bad. We thought she'd be happy here and the rescue center agreed. Monica is bringing her to us from northern New Jersey and should be here soon. Pictures later--we want to make sure Munchie is settled and comfy before we start to ambush her with the flashy thing!
